The Upper Valley Teacher Institute of Lebanon, New Hampshire, has been helping talented candidates become great teachers for nearly forty years.

At UVTI, adult college graduates become certified teachers in an intensive, 10-month conversion program. Each UVTI intern has a strong academic background and rich life experience to share with students.

The Teacher Certification Program in Brief:

• Spend an entire academic year as an intern in actual classrooms.
• Gather with a cohort of talented adults for weekly seminars on topics that include curriculum planning, learning theory, child and adolescent development, and classroom management.
• Develop your skills and your confidence by working with mentor teachers and UVTI staff supervisors.
• Earn teacher certification in only 10 months.
• Prepare for the classrooms of the future, as well as the schools of today.

Internships are available in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont and in many large and small towns throughout both states.

UVTI is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and approved for teacher certification by the State of New Hampshire. Approximately half of UVTI interns also earn certification in Vermont. Reciprocity is available from many other states as well.
